During that time she also founded Quick Think Inc. whose vision is “To Teach You How to Get Others to do What You Want” through successful negotiation strategies and tactics. Her clients include General Electric, Nissan, Alcoa, Norton Healthcare, Humana, Brown-Forman and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In 1996 she was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award! Along the way she has also helped raise seven children and managed to make sure that 450,000 schoolchildren get to have an arts experience every year!
As a regional manager for Wendy’s International in the early eighties she organized her 350 employees into a multifunctional work team. Her efforts produced such profits and productivity that she was selected from 3,000 managers worldwide as Wendy’s Employee of the Year!
Barbara was appointed by Mayor Jerry Abramson to serve on the Metro Louisville Air Pollution Control District Board of Directors. She was elected President of the Voter Outreach Program and the Downtown Police Advisory Board; and she serves on the Alcoa Community Advisory Board.
